on March 30, 2013I like this one best. Beautiful tones in B&W and not as distracting as the color shots. Makes you look closer at the instruments and facial expressions. The narrative storyline is evident that the keyboard player is in a solo and the other players are admiring his work. All attention is directed back to the keyboard player. The lights above provide subtle accents that form an overhead frame to the scene below. This is a tight scene without any distracting elements, very difficult to achieve in a club setting. That is one reason why so many Jazz shots are close ups, it allows the isolation of a particular moment. Everything here is in the right place.
